Bromomethane has a boiling point of 3 degrees C, which makes it a gas at ambient temperatures. Unless subject to nucleophilic attack which would alter its structure, I'd expect it to be entropy-driven to not hang around very long on anything. That's part of why its chosen.

Maybe I misunderstood your point and need a second cup of coffee :)
