Creators of the loading test note that Iodine should be stopped 24-48 hours ahead of the test. It takes at least 4 days for urine Iodine levels to return to baseline after taking a 50mg dose. If you don't discontinue supplementation, it will tack onto the 50mg loading dose and show a higher % excretion. This is one of the possible reasons why certain people excrete >45mg and pass the test (don't stop supplementation) while others supplementing for many years still fail.
