Your thoughts are very similar to where I was at in my thinking, thankyou for the support :) Unfortunately with the way the NHS works in the UK, and that I cant afford to go private, we are kinda lumped with the doctor that we have, more so in terms of specialists. We can change GP’s but I have already been through four of them, and this one, although not a believer of AF is probably the more caring, she has done more in the past six months with referrals to sleep specialists, nuerologists etc than any other GP has, her last comment when I saw her was ‘I wish I could just help you’ which at least shows some empathy which is more than most GP’sg give.

I wish I could take your recommendation and pop to the States ( I think your in the US?) to see your doctor! I even have £800 to use up with US Airways as I had to cancel a trip to NY last year because of this illness. I was debating on trying the Clymer Centre for Healing, but worried the costs will spiral and ill again be left at square one, like my experience with Dr Lam.

I really don’t want to go down the SSRI route, however like you, if I can manage to settle this down and make it liveable, I can concentrate on the healing. Taking random things all the time to try and cope is no doubt messing my brain and body up much more than a 6-12 month course of an SSRI. I don’t think they are a magic pill cure, but they will help me through it. I have tried Remeron and Elavil before which didn’t really help but this was when I was still working a high paced job, training and being in denial. I am looking into Lexapro and think this might be the best possibility. I cant really afford a neurotransmitter level test, so im only going on the info i got from the ones that didnt work. I know if i take a prozac i do feel happier straight away, but Lexapro looks to be the most calming when anxeity is the biggest issue.
