I'm sorry the Benzo's pulled you back down Aerose - it sounds like you made huge progress.
I foresee a wave of lawsuit's at doctors for setting people's health back by DECADES due to the abuse and over-use of 'psych' medications. It's pure laziness on their part to EVEN CONSIDER using such strong brain-chemical-altering substances - they may aswell hand patients a needle and some heroin and say 'have a nice life'...for they surely know the majority of people FAIL TO THRIVE on such medications, and end up losing their job, family etc due to these drugs.
Makes me so angry how they abuse their position, relying solely on the innocent ignorance of their patients.

I'm glad my post was helpful - i really echoed so many sentiments i myself have read on this forum, that at a time when i was realllly lost, helped me to gain better perspective with what i'm dealing with.

I'm sorry your entire life has been affected by AF. It took me months of resisting to change my life...not wanting to give up things which nourish my soul...but it all had to go. I'm still heart-broken about some elements (27 years of waiting to own a horse and train it myself - only to FINALLY have the pleasure for 6 months before my ultimate crash sept.2012, forcing me to re-home them).

When swimming in murky waters it's always best to look up and focus on the rays of the sun. You have healed before from a crash, and if it wasn't for your doctor you would have achieved even better health - but at least you know you can heal and get to a place outside of the 'crash pit' of adrenal hell :-) I'm amazed you have got over the Ativan as quickly as you have. Having that drug out of your system allows your body to find it OWN balance, and from there you have a better chance of improvement.

As you say, sticking faithfully to a program of healing will bring back your life with even better balance. I can't wait to be in that place also. I try to look at it like i'll get my life back but with a huge bonus attached.

Although the blissful joys in life are to be revelled in and we wish for them....it has only been the DIRE experiences that have been the better experiences in terms of teaching me fundamental aspects of where i am going wrong in life.
Adrenal Fatigue is certainly one of a very few dire experiences i've gone through - but it's been THE biggest teacher. Even at this relatively early stage of improvement i can sense it's profoundly changed me.

I really like Dr Lam....i don't know him in person, but i like his methodology and understanding of the endocrine system. He explains it all so clearly. I too am going through his book and am getting so much from it. It's actually so well written it makes me feel empowered to have THAT as a tool to guide me through healing. As we all know here with AF, to feel empowered to self-heal IS like the holy grail!
It's great you're working with him at this stage you're in...you're using your money wisely IMO.

Take care, *hugs*
