Cutler specifies the regular ALA not the R-form, I think because the regular ALA was used in the studies he used to develop his dosing recommendations.

Cutler has very specific dosing recommendations based on the half life of the chelator. He also thinks it is wise to take it in rounds--typically a long weekend. We've heard some unpleasant reports from those who have skipped night doses, including this member.
