I have stopped using the medicated ointments. I stopped using them for about a week and a half and just used Aquaphor. And there were no changes.

The only reason I continued using them is that my derm recommended I do so.

And wound healing treatments dont "cover up" wounds. You cant "cover up" a wound. They are called wound HEALING treatments for a reason. They HEAL wounds. To say that your covering up a wound is absurd.
