HIV never detects any virus in the blood. It only detects antibodies to the virus. No one has an HIV viral load. The HIV virus has never been isolated. People will test positive, then negative, then positive, etc. And many times other proteins, including a placenta in a pregnant woman, can create a positive test. HIV tests are so unreliable that in some parts of the world they've stopped doing them all together (UK), and they're so useless that the has taken HIV off the list of communicable diseases that you need to test for before entering the country.
