According to Jon Matsen ND in his book "Eating Alive" oyr bodies go through cycles during the day - late daylight is eating, early night absorption and digestion, then rebuilding and cleaning.
If this is true, then sudden night high blood pressure could be a detox of otherwise stored something that causes high blood pressure. Urinalysis of the night piss might show something.
