Just a thought on BOILING your water to remove the Chlorine. If you do this inside your apartment, the steam will be an issue just like in your shower and you may still be ingesting some of the Chlorine threw your lungs... I'd suspect that boiling the water outside would be a better choice.

I applaud your efforts and willingness to learn.
