Puke Weed - sounds appropriate.

I have the Christopher Natural School of Healing book. In the front section there are numerous anecdotes from Christopher's early career. In one he recounts the story of two sons who carried their gravely ill father to his door step late one night. (he was gasping for each breath, this from having suffered Asthma 26 years). The guy had not been able to get a good night's sleep - when lying down the asthma would nearly choke him, nor hold a steady job for 20 years due to the seriousness of the condition. Christoper has the boys bring him into his house, he sits him down in a chair and gives him a cup of hot mint tea to relax him. 10 minutes later he gives him 1 TSP of Lobelia Tincture, another 10 minutes later, and another 10 minutes later after which Christoper quickly but quietly goes about collecting buckets, pots, pans. The old man then vomits for 3 hours straight, coughing up all kinds of nastly black stuff. The peppermint tea also relaxed his innards so that it would easily pass this gunk while heaving for so long. At the end of this, Christopher told the boys the treatment was done, they could take their dad home. When they got hom dad informed the boys "i'm going to sleep in my bed tonight". The boys were worried, fearing the old man would die. He slept for 30 hours and upon awaking from his first night's sleep in 20 years, told his sons "I'm healed, time to go back to work", which he did, as a gardener, where he never missed a days work and slept in his bed every night after.

There are several lobelia anecdotes in this book, and at least a few of them relate significant healing that results after repeated vomiting that itself resulted from proper doses of lobelia.
