Well it was only the one chunk and I flattened it out to seal it in the tape. Maybe a little spongy? I was in a hurry to seal it because it kinda creeped me out handling it... gave me a weird feeling. Sounds kinda wuss huh?

Did you check your air unit out for leaks or anything?
