10 days is fairly conservative. Desonide is a very low potency steroid. Some people use it on a permanent basis once daily though I don't think that's a good idea. You could easily get away with 3 weeks of regular use. My derm put me on it on the 20th 2-4 times daily, all the way until I see him on the 7th, which is just under 3 weeks with no hesitation. I'm not sure what his plans are from there, but I do not want to become a long time steroid user.
