Perhaps you might have a different perspective if you took at look at the 453 referenced entries about blackseed (Nigella sativa) at PubMed:

In addition to actual scientific studies proving the efficacy and potential of blackseed, it has a history of medicinal use dating back many, many centuries.

I particularly like it as a complimentary supplement for people with pancreatic cancer - it is one of a very small handful of items which has been shown to be effective against pancreatic cancer cells.
