I've been a functional medicine patient since about May of this year. I had started eating better (no processed food, no canned food, etc.) but was still eating lots of sugar when I started seeing my doctor. He immediately told me to cut out the sugar. After ridding me of a terrible H Pylori infection, we went to work on my gut. I had pretty bad fungal, bacterial, and parasite infections and thus a serious case of leaky gut. No wonder I felt like I was dying!

I took various natural supplements to boost my immune system to rid my intestines of candida overgrowth (as well as bacteria overgrowth and parasites at the same time.) I got rid of a lot of the overgrowth in my gut that way, but before it the infections were gone, I started drinking water with borax to try and detox fluoride from my system. (I've had chronic fatigue syndrome for years and the cleaning up of my gut and adrenal supplements weren't helping much with energy. I was tested for Hashimotos Thyroiditis, which was negative, so I resorted to borax to see if fluoride toxicity was affecting my thyroid.) Borax not only helped a great deal with energy (started noticing in less than two weeks), it was an awesome anti-fungal! The boron in the borax binds with the fluoride in your system and then it is removed from your system. The boron also helps to kill of the candida - including systemic candida. I had some major detoxing effects (lots of toxins loose in my system) and muscle response testing showed it was helping kill off the fungus big time. Even my scalp itchiness had reduced quite a bit!

Before long, I had started drinking Pau d'Arco tea. My supplements to kill off the last bits of bacteria overgrowth and parasites in my gut were on back order, so I had to resort to something else rather than let it grow again. Pau d'Arco is amazing for all these things. I read it was the only tree in the rainforest that doesn't have fungus growing on it. I even did enemas with it when I was left with only a little parasite infection in my descending colon - and the tea got rid of it (I made the tea without the peppermint and sweetener for the enemas.)

The tea I drink:
Pau d'Arco for anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-parasite, anti-viral effects.
Yerba Mate for vitamin, mineral, and other nutrient content - enhances Pau d'Arco's effects.
Peppermint leaf for flavor
A little raw organic honey and stevia for sweetening

Borax water: 1 liter of water with 1/8 tsp of borax drunk throughout the day. I actually mix most of it with my tea so I'm getting borax AND the herbal stuff throughout the day.

My systemic candida is WAY down. My lungs are functioning better than ever! It has been many, many years since I was off asthma medication. These things work that well for candida. Yes, I know it is going to be hard to get rid of the last bits of candida in my system. I imagine these things won't necessarily do it all, but maybe they can once I clean up my system enough that my immune system can dedicate itself to finishing it off. Hopefully I can rid myself of it sooner than later. I was sugar and simple carb free for a very long time, but I've added a little sugar back into my diet. I can eliminate it again if need be. (How wonderful to not be a sugar addict anymore!)

I just can't believe the fungus is just dormant in my system. I guess I can believe that there is some that is, but my detox effects were so severe that I had to take an ionic foot bath (with mineral supplements) every day for a long time to reduce toxins in my bloodstream associated with fungus kill-off. (I did this with doctor supervision, of course.) While I work very closely with my doctor, I try a lot of stuff on my own to try and save money and sped up results. He just goes with the flow, muscle response testing to me to make things are doing what they are purported to do and to make sure I'm not harming myself.

I read about proteolytic enzymes and how they're supposed to break down proteins like fungus, bacteria, viruses, etc. in your blood (if you take them on an empty stomach - otherwise they'll just work on the food in your gut.) t turns out today I started taking proteolytic enzymes. Do you know if these things actually work? I haven't discussed it with my doctor yet, but will at my appointment tomorrow. My thinking is that it will help get rid of the last of the candida. Perhaps if there is dormant candida left, it will get rid of that stuff too! What do you think of these supplements? I purchased Doctor's Best, Best Proteolytic Enzymes. Thanks in advance!
