Thank you for the replies.

Natway , honestly I think eating fruit for a few days straight I'd feel ill ( like I would with nearly everything else lol ). Bananas in particular seem to give me stomach ache.

Dave , thanks , you have helped me before and sorry I didn't reply. I get so frustrated with my health I find it hard sometimes to keep talking about it , sort of feels like i'm going around in circles so I'm sorry if you thought I had maybe ignored you. It's definitely not my intention. I don't know where I'd be without this forum !.

In regards to what bacteria was found , the stool sample shown that I had traces of two bacteria in particular. From the words of the doctor interpreting the results.

" There are two additional species of bacteria that I wouldn't expect to normally see namely alpha haemolytic streptococcus and coagulase nagative staphylococcus. "

Another part of the results she wrote for me you may find interesting..

" Taylor has high levels of betaglucuronidase. This is an enzyme induced when anaerobic microbes ferment and I take high levels of such to be symptomatic of an upper fermenting
gut by anaerobes. Anaerobic bacteria do not survive outside of the gut because of course oxygen kills them and therefore they don't appear in microbiology results - it is only aerobes that appear there. Where there is upper fermenting gut by anaerobes we often see relatively low levels of benifical short chain fatty acids ( these should be higher since Taylor is eating a lot of vegetables ), together with low to normal levels of n-butyrate - both of these are produced by the normal fermentation of anaerobes downstream in the large bowel. So again these two results support the idea that there is upper gut fermentation by anaerobes. "

The stool sample never found any evidence of H pylori but I read somewhere that stool samples do not always pick it up. It was my upper endoscopy that found evidence of H pylori around a week after receiving these results by finding an ulcer and stomach erosion ( which I've likely had for years since I've had the symptoms ). The test results also mention there could be other bacteria and yeast present and I would be very surprised if candida wasn't a problem since it was antibitoics that put me in this situation in the first place.

I'm glad to see you also don't fully agree with the zero carb approach , I've always thought it seems as if it could do more harm than good , not to mention the fact that I'd be starving. I already look anorexic and it drives me crazy to think I used to go to the gym and have a good amount of weight on.

Low carb is something I'm still trying to get my head around , on a diet of around 2200 - 2400 calories how many grams of carbs do you think would be suitable ?.

Thanks again for the help everyone , my family try to listen but they have no idea what I'm talking about lol !.
