St. John's Wort worked really, really well for me. No side effects. None.

SSRIs were painful; I still haven't lost all the weight from being on 'em, let alone the other side effects.

As always, get good quality stuff, and ramp up to it. If you're on an SSRI you may need to ramp down.

Mediherb is the tablet form I use, but when first on it, it was part of a tincture/cocktail. For a while I worked up to TWO tablets there. That was about 1800mg standarised, whereas most folks use 900mg.

BTW, German Doctors use St. John's Wort as first line of defence for mild/moderate depression.
