I agree that the concern is whether or not the laser surgery would get all of the cancer and in my sister's case, it did not because it had metastasized. However, It is her belief, as well as mine, that a small amount of cancer is easier to eliminate than a larger amount.

Especially important to consider is the mass of decomposing tissue that produces a heavy toxic load when a large tumor is successfully killed. Often times, the load of toxins from die-off can be sufficient to overwhelm the liver and kidneys, causing subsequent death from organ failure, despite that destruction of the cancer.

Also, removing a large mass can reduce the amount of cancer promoting hormones such as VEGF that are produced, thereby reducing the rate of further cancer development.
