You can tell him of my experiences with iodine. I'm 69 yrs young.

1) My prostate problems were cured within 6 months.
Now I piss like a racehorse, no more dribbling.

2) Iodine cured my Glans poor sensitivity problems, and also cured my worsening Erectile Dysfunction.

I have not had much success convincing others to take iodine or other health tips. People are brain washed by too much TV, and if their doctor doesn't say it, it can't be true. If they don't see it on TV, it can't be true. Best of luck to you convincing your friend.
