I do have fordyce spots on my lips - and it seems as if the secretion of these required lipids has stopped, and in turn has dried out my lips. If there is no requirement for sebaceous excretion on the lips - why do my fordyce spots only occur on my lips ?
I believe that the sebaceous pores on the lips, create [or help to create] the hydrophobic membrane, that makes them resistant to the penetration of water.
I would suggest, that you also attempt to use lecithin - and see what results you encounter. I have had very good results so far, and will attempt to keep using it for the whole month.
I use to have a very sore spot - triangular in essence, just below the philtrum, on the top lip.
Hope this helps your understanding.
If you do not have fordyce spots - I suggest phosphatidylcholine supplementation. But painting lecithin as an excitable membrane could help in the mean time none the less.
