If you want to continue with you method, you should try this bionect. You can just put it on the new skin when your lips peel. The antibacterial properties could really help you.

Since using the Bionect, I get the same crusty buildup but its a tiny bit thinner and it doesnt turn that yellowish color. That color may have something to do with an infection.

Or you should spray your lips with saline or something.
