With irritable bowel syndrome, there can be periods of remission. food allergies can cause irritable bowel syndrome or inflammation. I just thought it might be related since you wrote if you avoided the foods you were allergic to, then there would not be much left to eat. Although I have celiac disease I have more of the neurological than gastrointestinal symptoms, but I still have the inflammation.
