Actually, I have done quite the turnaround on supplemental Vitamin D - thanks in great part to Unyquity.  Still no fan of Marshall's, but am also leary of mega-dosing with supplemental D3.  Part of my wariness comes from the natural suspicions raised when almost the entire maim-stream community has jumped on the Vitamin D bandwagon - as you have pointed out.  Mainstream medicine is by and large not known to heavily promote anything which would result in more wellness and fewer customers.
