Not a fan of DE for long term. It can be very dehydrating and the scratchy consistency of the diatom crystals can irritate the intestinal lining causing a lot of mucus production. When I tried DE there was a lot of mucus that was passing through the colonic tube. That was telling me that the DE was irritating the intestines too much.
