The irony is that saliva can cure EC or worsen lip conditions. The secret seems to be the combination of saliva and cocoa butter (or perhaps any other natural mostiurizing lip balm will do). These days I notice that if I lick my lips without applying cocoa butter afterwards, my lips will dry out a little.

My lips were much worse than the one shown in the video or the pictures on google images of actinic cheilitis. My lips looked different throughout the day actually, because it was caught in that infamous peeling cycle. At times it looked similar to this picture curezone.com/upload/_O_P_Forums/Peeling_Lips/Male_29_years/Exfoliative_cheilitis_after_12_years_9_4.jpg but without the yellow coloration.
