What I have observed is this and I will try and say it simply.

People have moved away from the Bible as the final authority in their lives for practice, worship and doctrine.  To those of Experience and Emotions based not on a solid rock of the Word of God but on the ever shifting sands of "Feeling".

The reason for this is because there are over 350 English Bibles Available out there and none of them agree.  Many FEEL they all have errors therefore leaving it to the individual to interpret. 

There are no ORIGINAL writings available and all there is are COPIES of originals and no one has any idea if they have errors or not because there are no ORIGINALS to check them against.

But this I know God made a promise to keep his word and preserve his WORDS to all Generations, not understandings, not ideas, his WORDS.  these words will be found in a book and this book will have everyone of them preserved with none missing or changed.

Here is God's promise: 
Ps 12:6, 7 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.   Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

Now if God is Almighty, All Knowing and Ever-present then he has kept his promise to preserve his words to us today in one of the English Bibles (not all).  If he has not done so as he promises then he is not a God worth following.

Now I can say for sure I have read 25 different English Versions of the Bible.  And out of those I have found only one that is whole, complete and without errors, The Authorized Version.

Here are a few examples that most the new translations have removed or changed.  Remember if even one word if different there is a change and it is not preserved.

2Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  the only verse that tells us to study God's word and How to study it

1John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.  The only verse that openly teaching that God is three in one, known as the doctrine of the trinity.

Daniel 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.  The only verse that teaches us that God himself will be with us in the fiery trials of life.  Who would you rather have with you during those times the son of God or one of the sons of the gods?

Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!  the only verse that openly identifies our advisory by name.  The change here in the other versions confuses the devil with the Lord Jesus Christ identified in Rev 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. as the Morning star.

These are just a few examples of Bibles that are not preserve and the one that is preserve.  You can rely on versions that are always updating and changing like the NIV or you can rely on the Book that has never changed the Authorized Version.  The one that gives you hope and instruction in Christ, that is whole and complete with nothing missing or added.  And if there is a word added to make the text understandable in  English in the AV it is Italicized so that you know which word it is.  No other version will do that thereby falsely leading you to think they have not added or taken away anything.

But don't take my word for it get a AV and compare it with any other version.  While you are doing that ask the Lord to reveal to you truths you have not seen before.  I prayed that prayer and two things I learned one, The Holy Bible defines any English word like a dictionary as found in the context, and two, that it has a supernaturally built in cross-referencing system that no other translation has.

This is the basis for the many denominations, groups, evangelicals, moving into areas of raging waters of emotional experiences and feelings over the Word of God.  Because they don't have a Bible they can rely on that is whole complete and without error as I do.
