Using key words like "xylitol", "tumor", "cancer", and/ or "carcinogenic", after a thorough search for scientific articles in the government's PubMed database (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed) from 1964 through the Present, I've found nothing that would make me concerned about adding Xylitol to the food I eat.
I suspect there are, and always there will be web sites that make unsubstantiated claims without any references.
Perhaps because there is a conflict of interest. Perhaps their (usually unnamed) authors work in the Sugar industry. Or perhaps because they're MDs and/or oncologists whose best interest is to spread foul rumors, or engage in fear-mongering, or encourage the use of ordinary table sugar, or discourage the use of xylitol -- a truly wonderful substance with anti-tumor properties!
I repeat: With anti-tumor properties!
To prevent cancer, for starters, we need to say 'no' to MDs and oncologists http://aptarticle.com/health/how-10045-prevent-your-breast-cancer.html
