This is a sleep paralysis, in my experience it's caused by not enough oxygen in the brain. Ozone therapy has helped someone I know with this and as does Ted's Alkalizing drinks from earthclinic (taken just before going to bed). Use sparingly though as it's also made their digestion worse due to the bicarbonates.
