Since I do think I may have messed up my adrenals a bit by taking too much ALA (I'm wondering if even 40mg is too much and I should lower it to 25mg or something), I ordered adrenal cortex.

However, one thing that's recommended a lot, and which I can get locally at Wegmans or Whole Foods, is licorice root, which is also really cheap. What is it like? Would it help a lot, a little, would it have side effects (I'm being warned a lot of the side effects of adrenal cortex) - what do I need to know?
