Hi ..

The cream I am talking about is Betagel - Betamethasone
Dipropionate gel.
Composition : betammethasone Dipropionate IP equivalent to betamethasone 0.05 % w/w in a water soluble gel base.Color : Brilliant blue FCF.

In india it justs costs Rs 30 (about half a US dollar)

i got healed from this 5-6 years back (I had the login id : escapist then ) and I also mentioned a detailed solution then , but some ppl criticized and made fun of me , So I left the forum.Meanwhile I completed my post grad and got married .

I got my treatment from Dr Sanjeev (Rohini,Delhi,India).I remember he telling me that this problem is because due to excessive peeling our lip skin underneath gets exposed , our brain tries to compensate that by producing skin faster so that skin underneth remains protected.However even when we stop picking our lips ,our brain keeps on doing that .hence the thick layer of skin.If you check the defnition of Betamethasone , it is :

This definition is in sync with his explanation.

I applied Betagel twice a day for around 3 weeks.My symtoms started with a whitening of lip skin when in contact with water.This was due due to years of picking my lower lip.Over a period of time it worsened ,with skin getting thick and yellow/green crusts on my lip.

But please remember this cream is quite powerful (it's a steroid) and he gave it because my condition was not responding to light creams.Looking at some of your pics , my condition was worse then you guys ...

I do not wan't to over emphasize my point , as some ppl just keep doubting and pass on negative comments ..
