Surviving Mesothelioma Book
A Mesothelioma diagnosis can be very unfortunate. Mesothelioma is a type of cancer caused by indirect or direct asbestos exposure. Distinguished by the formation of cancerous tumors on the mesothelium layer in our body, Mesothelioma damages this protective layer and ultimately results in the death of the victim. Since this disease shows its symptoms quite late it becomes almost impossible for medical professionals to save a patient's life.
Mesothelioma occurs in 3 forms namely
A - Pleural Mesothelioma: affects the protective lining around the chest cavity and includes the lungs too. Its symptoms are shortness of breath, persistent cough, night sweat and coughing up of blood. B - Peritoneal Mesothelioma: affects the protective lining namely the peritoneum around the abdomen. Symptoms for this type of mesothelioma include unusual weight loss, fatigue, nausea, anemia and abdominal pain. C- Pericardial Mesothelioma: affects the pericardium which is the layer protecting our heart. Though occurring rarely and difficult to diagnose, its symptoms are similar to those found in heart diseases.
