The solution is to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. The best way to insure that people will come and destroy your holy relics is to sit back, do nothing, and refuse to give a crap when their holy relics are being looted and destroyed. The reason this conflict is escalating into a world wide catastrophe is because there are so many people who simply don't care. Complacency is hatred in disguise.
