My family friend that I keep in contact with (the dermatologist who says she has seen EC and thinks its a wound) talked to me about surgery. From what I remember she said they use some laser and pretty much laser off the affected area that isnt healing properly, hoping to expose skin underneath that CAN heal properly.

But Im sure there are many risks, like making it MUCH MUCH worse. But if nothing else works, eventually I will definitely look into a procedure like this.
