I can only give advice related to my own experience. I have a roundworm infection, and when cleansing, I would get phlegm on a regular basis, like every 3 weeks, lasting for a week or more. Under normal circumstances, I do not have this type of cough or phlegm. It is gummy and comes up in balls, which is supposed to be the larve migration cycle from the lungs.

The reason I think it is worse when cleansing is that as you kill worms, it triggers more eggs to hatch, and during continuous cleansing, the cycle will continue until you get them all. It always goes away for me totally after I feel clear of the infection.

You should really try looking into natural expectorant herbs of some sort, if this is what you are dealing with, you want to try to always spit it out, as swallowing it sends them into your intestines.

Even if this is not your case, do a google search on expectorant herbs, there are several home remedies that you could try.
