I meant that I thought environment could be a factor in the sense that something in our local environment causes allergy symptoms, which are then relived when we are in a different environment where the same allergen is not present?
It would not have to be humid vs non-humid. There could be a whole host of things, and it could be different for different people.
In my case, I get a cough every Winter. A dry cough (so not an illness, like cold or flu). It often last for months. It starts around the same time every year and ends the same time every year. I feel positive it is an allergy (although doctors have not tended to agree... they don't know what causes it, but they feel sure it is not allergies... go figure?!?).
I feel strongly that my allergy is to mold. Probably a mold specific to my area. When I go on vacation, even to places that are also damp, the cough often goes away. So I think the allergy is to a mold which is specific to my environment.
Just my theory, for what it is worth. It seems to be the only thing that makes sense.
