Hi Rhodia7. I used to have it too. If you read my responses to this post...I think I have found the answer.

The same chronic stress that creates AF, also results in chronic, subconscious hyperventilation.

And there condition know as "post hyperventilation apnea".

This is when you swing from over-breathing to not breathing at all, followed by a big gasp that starts hyperventilation again.

Basically you alternate between hyperventilation and not breathing (apnea)

What solved apnea for me? Buteyko Breathing Technique.

It also solved shortness of breath, anxiety, improved sleep and energy.
