Hi Eric,
I had about 2-3 Amalgam fillings in my teens and a year or two later my problems started. I first developed thrush and then later lost about 3 fingernails. Around the same time I found out I was hypothyroid. I've had naturopaths try and treat me for candida as well as on my own with no success.
I'm really frustrated that doctors don't know/understand how to treat this. The same with mercury poisoning unless it's quite obvious you've been poisoned from the workplace or something. It's like doctors know how to treat Addison's Disease but not adrenal exhaustion!
Anyway, there have been times I doubted I had candida since I tried to treat so many times and felt no difference but I know now with the spit test and a naturopath years ago said he could see it in my blood and now how mercury affects it that I probably have it.
Other than the Amalgams I don't know what else I've been exposed to. I know when I did a hair test 12 years ago I had high copper levels but now they have subsided on their own. I couldn't afford all the supplements at the time and wasn't sure they would even help. I didn't know much about heavy metal toxicity at the time. I had the fillings taken out in the late 90's and didn't feel any better. I didn't realize then that you had to detox. I thought it would come out of my system naturally after removing them. Years later I still believed it could be an issue so tried detoxing on my own but I don't think I took the right things or right amounts as I never felt any different. Then would give up esp when hair results showed nothing. Now I found out in most cases mercury doesn't show up in tests and it's how the minerals look that tells you if you have it or not.
I feel I may have mercury poisoning which is making candida very difficult to treat and the stress on the body is weakening the adrenals. Thyroid seems fine (TSH, FT3 and TT4 are normal and I take natural pig hormone med) but wouldn't be surprise if it's affected some how.
Here are my hair test results. I include them as I have a list of symptoms with it. I meet Counting Rule 1 of Cutler's Protocol as per the Frequent Chelation Dose Yahoo group and was told I should chelate. http://www.livingnetwork.co.za/files/hairtest_599.pdf
I also showed them my one from 2000 to show the high copper I had and they made a comment how it met Rule #1 too. Then someone else commented that I met Rule 3 and 4 as well.
Here are my hair tests from 2000 and 2004 just for the heck of it. The group didn't think my high copper levels were that high.

It's funny, I'm reading Cutler's book on Hair Test Interpretations and how mercury makes a person shy, timid, and withdrawn. That is me. I'm sure some feel like that and don't have it though. I also read how some people have convergence problems for example not being able to keep their place while reading and finding reading tiring. Or losing the ability to pick meaningful sounds out of the background such as not being able to understand what a person is saying to me at a party or if music is playing. I notice this when I go to concerts.
Thanks for your response.
