I'm new to copper detox. I've never had a mineral hair test but I suspect I'm copper toxic because I've been on birth control pills for 15 years.
Two months ago I started taking 25mg zinc. At first it made me feel calm and it improved my insomnia. A few days later I got a headache which turned into a migraine. I'm sure it was caused by zinc because my migraines always come up during my periods but it wasn't in this case. I had to back off zinc for a few days. After it had passed, I noticed my vision became sharper. I've now upped my dose of zinc to 37mg. My appetite is weak since starting zinc and my sense of taste has dulled. I thought zinc increases appetite. Is it because of free floating copper?
So two weeks ago I added 75mcg molybdenum. I didn't feel anything until recently. I had a three day migraine with all over flu-like symptoms which disappeared as soon as I stopped the molybdenum. I also noticed that around the time I started molybdenum, every night I'd wake up around 3am - 5am soaked in sweat. Not sure if that was because of the copper detox supplements or something else.
Am I doing the right thing with copper detox? I also take 750mg of vitamin C but I want to take a break because I think it makes my insomnia worse. Do you think copper detox will help my insomnia? How much does a hair mineral analysis test cost?
I am certain that I have a zinc deficiency. I have pectus excavatum, extreme myopia, severe acne, stretch marks, nimble joints, and anorexia nervosa from loss of appetite. Without birth control pills my weight will drop down to 95lbs and I'm 5'5".
