Probiotics are benficial micro-organisms...also referred to as flora...of which there are many strains. Acidophilus is one strain. In general, probiotics assist in the digestion process, inhibit pathogenic bacterial organisms and synthesize some vitamins... particularly the Bs. Beneficial bacteria promotes a healthy digestive and immune system.
