sounds like trichinella spiralis - their favourite place is head/scalp/face/neck/shoulders/arms, in addition to spreading over in the entire body and they are especially annoying in the bottom of the feet/soles; they like to be attached to the bones - but they attack the muscles

they create these nests where there is the core (I think they call it "nurse") and in it and around it there are hundreds of the small ones - I've seen it and first was just petrified what kind of monsters these are....

they hate ginger and mint - based on my own experience too

and by the way, you don't need to eat pork to get this infection - again based on my own experience

they are very hard to eliminate because they create so many layers it feels never ending, but with repeated treatments the load gets thinner and thinner, so just keep at it, but be aware it might take some time

of course, could be something else, but because of the face/head area you've described I am guessing it's trichinella spiralis
