My son is 15 and has Tourette Syndrome. Generally controlled with medication, which he had gone off of with no symptoms for maybe 6 months. A month ago he requested to go back on it, and has gotten to the highest dose I believe..

He is in his room clearing his throat for the last hour, pretty much nonstop. He wants medicine of some sort, but says there is nothing there to clear; that it is just a tic. So I am not sure what to tell him. I will be calling the neurologist again, but he wants to know how to STOP clearing his throat for now.

Any suggestions? He also has Aspergers, has only an online social life, and pretty much won't ever leave the house. It is hard to get him to appointments half the time, because he "just can't," he says.
