I rinse (dont scrub) my lips throughout the day, and I dont think it makes them come off faster. I just dry them with a fan right afterward. Also washing with soap may play a part in PREVENTING a bacterial infection, but will no mean cure it. Once again I recommend getting a biopsy/culture, because if your son does have an infection it could very well be the cause of his EC or secondary, causing it to not heal properly.
