blueberries, red wine, hibiscus, OJ, chocolate.

Probably it would be good to have the patient switch over to raw honey or some other more natural sweetener than sugar.

If the condition is related to Na/K imbalance then it should be very easy to just increase potassium foods such as carrot, potato, greens, bananas, basically any orange/yellow food.

On the notion of fluidic pressure...

Blood pressure is no different than other fluid dynamic systems, however the vascular system in the body is ridiculously intricate.

Barring any serious vascular, urethral, or ureteral blockages, the major fluid exit routes in the body are kidney, liver-gallbladder, skin, lungs, and lymph (which is not a true exit but uses the aforementioned as exits).

If there were serious lung blockages the patient would already be dead and if the patient can perspire then we can rule lung and skin out as suspects in blockage.

If the patient is having normal(ish, is anyone normal these days?) blowel movements then we can assume some free movement of fluids out of the intestinal tract.

So now we are onto the real source of the problem, kidneys and liver-gallbladder and concurrently the lymphatic system which is in feedback with these organs intimately.

I'll propose that most chronic illnesses beging long before they present. The Jensenians and Christophers and their ilk say that death begins in the colon, and probably by extension they mean the small intestine as well. But for practical purposes of blood pressure I'll get to the next level of illness which is kidney and liver impairment.

So well before anything presents there will be horrendous liver-gallbladder, kidney and lymphatic congestion. Barring the lungs, skin and colon, the major fluid exit route is obviously the kidneys, but the liver also must process a lot of fluid as a healthy person will manufacture a quart per day.

So by the time there is obvious presentation of hypertension there has been at the very least long-standing kidney congestion, liver-gallbladder congestion, and concomitantly lymphatic congestion. Dealing with the problem at the vascular level, or even the biochemical level of the control mechanisms are really sort of palliative in nature. This is not to degrade a palliative measure because it can have a great effect on quality of life.

The patient must absolutely deal with urological system, mainly the kidneys, and it would also be prudent to look at the bladder under a scope.

I'm ignoring the liver and lymphatic system now for the sake of posting brevity.

Natural therapies for the kidneys include standard Hulda Clark kidney cleanse, Watermelon Seed Tea (the seeds are rich in the amino acid citrulline which can help to clear stones from the kidney, parsley tea, dandelion tea, chicory tea. If calcium stones are present then fresh lemon juice or any tart juice will provide citrate to dissolve these. Cherries are helpul for dissolving uric acid based stones.

Folk remedies like black bean soup are supposed to be good for the kidneys, or birch bark tea, shrimp (from the law of similars because shrimps are shaped like the kidneys), and cold processed flax oil to help lubricate the vessels and delicate nephrons.

Salt has also been reported to work, by which mechanism I think that it just facilitates better hydration which will in turn help to clear waste from the kidneys.

Creatinine and albumin should be checked via bloodwork. Some people may need to restrict animal proteins.

Even something as simple as movements which squeeze the kidney area and stimulate release can be effective so long as adequate hydration is taken care of.

Interestingly, as reported by people in the dry fasting forum, and observed by the dutch doctor Bart Hugyes, just drinking copious amounts of water will not necessarily effect any cleansing of the kidneys, and possibly the opposite. During the fasting parties hosted by Dr. Hugyes, people would initially dry fast for days and days up until the body presented thirst. At this point people would pass black tar-like urine. When this was over the partygoers would report profound health improvements. I'm assuming that this would also include normalization in blood pressure.
