Well I met with my new primary care last week and when I asked about side effects of mirena he said that he has seen patients before that have suffered from mirena. He actually acknowledged the fact that I had made a timeline of when my symptoms started, and said that it could very well be caused from the mirena. When making my timeline I realized that my prior ob had first inserted my mirena in Oct 07, then due to an abnormal pap, I had a colposcopy, which my mirena popped out. She said she would have to figure out something with the insurance so I wouldn't have to pay for another one. I ended up needing a leep procedure, and she actually inserted the mirena during my leep surgery. I never thought twice about this, because she was the doctor, and I trusted her. But when I relayed this information to my new primary care doctor, he seemed very surprised, and stated that the mirena should have never been inserted during the leep, because your body is already in a vulnerable state of trying to heal. Please I would like to know anyones thoughts or opinions on this. I am going to talk to my current ob about it, but it is unnerving to think about, because this is the doctor who delivered my children, and caught my moms uterine cancer and treated her. Although I did leave her to see another doctor because she just stopped caring about what was happening to me and my body. Does this insertion of the mirena seem normal or not normal to anyone??????
