Low albumin can cause edema too and is due to not enuf protein in the diet.

They give salt to those who go on starvation protests because we cannot use the water we drink if we don't get any salt.

Sodium brings water into the cells and potassium takes it out.

I have to add tons of salt to my food because I drink way too much coffee which is loaded with potassium.

Otherwise, I get leg and foot cramps.
