Hello braindamage,
Natural Hygienes view of skin eruptions of all kinds (including psoriasis) is a result of systemic functional impairment brought about by enervation and the resultant toxemia: faulty elimination, digestive derangements, possible glandular defects, and all caused by a lowered state of vitality or enervation.
The skin is an organ of elimination amongst other things, and the body will in its own wisdom find the easiest and most convenient channel for the expulsion of endogenous toxins.
An strong indication that you are enervated and that you have a functional digestive impairment, is your inability to gain weight and therefore remain underweight; healthy digestion from a body not suffering from enervation results in a fairly easy weight gain, and as evidenced by those who are constantly wishing to lose weight, and only have to look at a "cream cake" and gain several pounds.
Impaired and faulty digestion coupled with faulty elimination is a recipe for the build up of toxemia, resulting in the fermentation and putrefaction of foods along the entire digestive-tract and evidenced by the bodys efforts in eliminating this toxic surfeit through your skin.
If I were you, I would adopt lifestyle changes that would eradicate the enervation and functional impairments that are the root cause of your problems.
#1. Ample rest and sleep, or as much as your body requires.
#2. A light and short daily exercise programme to stimulate blood circulation.
#3. Eat only when genuinely hungry, food that is properly combined, and as near to its natural organic state as possible. Food combining is VITAL. Avoid dairy and predominantly starchy foods. Slightly starch is fine.
#4. Sunbathe judiciously and often without burning.
#5. Ample fresh air or deep breathing daily, being careful not to hyperventilate: in order of importance for health come air then water and then food............
"Baths of water are good, baths of air are better, baths of light are best.".....Saleeby.
Fresh outdoor air playing over the whole exposed body, may increase metabolism by fifty per cent in ten minutes, and profoundly benefit your skin and digestion and other bodily processes: far more than most people are led to believe.
Shelton has this to say about all skin eruptions and inflammation...........
"Skin eruptions, if not due to purely local causes, as in poison ivy, are eliminative efforts. No attention should be given to the eruption beyond obeying the impulse to scratch and keeping the skin clean. First, last and all the time, proper care of the skin consists in removing the morbid systemic condition — toxemia and autointoxication — that the eruption seeks to throw off. The first principle in dealing with skin affections is to deal with the internal conditions with which they are associated by removing and correcting the causes of these.
Functional impairments — faulty elimination, digestive derangements, glandular defects, etc. — growing out of enervation and toxemia, even skin eruptions due to allergy, necessitate the removal of the organismal impairment, for the systemic impairment and not the specific food, is the cause of the allergy. Only by removing the fundamental cause of allergy can we prevent the systemic degeneration that is otherwise inevitable in allergic individuals.
Weger says: "We have found Psoriasis to respond to dietetic treatment in all cases. In some, a complete cure can be effected in four to six weeks. Cases of long standing occurring in people of low vitality may require six months or longer before the eruption disappears entirely. Excess of sugars and starches in the diet is the most important of food factors. The patches begin to fade at the end of a week of complete fasting and in two weeks they have usually disappeared leaving only a smooth, pink surface at the site of the lesion. * * * Once overcome dietetically there is no recurrence of Psoriasis unless the patient returns to former habits of eating or becomes so enervated as to bring about the same kind and degree of toxemia as had previously existed. Psoriasis undoubtedly represents a toxic state and should be so treated." All so-called "diseases" are liable to recur, unless the habits of life that brought them on in the first place are understood and corrected.
This care will serve equally as well in boils, acne, herpes, eczema, and all the other inflammations of the skin. In herpes simplex, Weger says, there is "no constitutional remedy so effective as clearing out the intestinal tract and stopping all food for a day or two."
Besides fasting, proper diet and cleanliness, we find sun-bathing to be very beneficial in all skin affections. It is necessary to remove all causes of enervation".
All of the above will serve to strengthen your body; raise your energy levels and eliminate enervation, whilst simultaneously improving digestion, enabling you to gain weight and minimize the fermentation/putrefaction and ultimately rid yourself of Psoriasis and indeed any other health malady that you may be experiencing.
Chrisb1.
