I started on Iodine a couple months ago, and I take 50 mg Lugol's. I'm 42 years old.

I have had heavy, clotty periods for many years, and that is what caused me to seek and find Iodine therapy.

I started my period on May 30 and it was normal in length (normal for me, 7-8 days) but difficult in intensity, very heavy with bad cramping. Then I spotted every single day. Then very early yesterday morning I awoke to excruciatingly painful cramps and blood. I took a fistful of ibuprofen for the pain and "took care of things" and went back to bed. I bled out very badly yesterday and still am today. Huge clots and puddles of blood. I am light headed and cannot stand for more than 10 minutes. This is my worst menstrual experience ever.

I started to panic and almost had my husband drive me to the emergency room when I read here about (Thank You!) vitamin A. I take Sonne's cod liver oil, 2 tsp per day, which is about 8000 IBU. So I got up and forced down 3 tablespoons with grass fed organic raw milk. I started sweating profusely and somehow felt stronger in a weird way and my panic passed. I really do not want to involve doctors. But it seems like the bleeding increased a little. I kept reading and realized ibuprofen reduces flow so out of desperation I took 800 mg.

Other things I take daily:
200 Selenium
Magnesium
2000 Vitamin C
Multivitamin which includes b complex
Iron (ferrochel)

I have a couple questions:

What form of vitamin A would people recommend for very high doses (70k IBU) That much cod liver oil was quite unpleasant.

Are there any opinions out there whether I should take a break from the Iodine or stay the course?

And of course I would really appreciateany words of encouragement -- this is really scary...
