Well that is a small part of it. But your possessing entity should know that devices such as Tarot, Quija boards, etc. are of the occult and a lot of their function comes from attuning to the unconcious and group entities they are associated with. 

The other aspect is that some tools such as mirror gazing, dowsing and pendulum swinging are merely extensions of the physical body (which is the ultimate psychic tool).
