yes i do agree with you it shouldnt take this long BUT! think about how many times you have peeled off layers of skin? for example the very first time i had ec i started to rip and bit all the skin off it since then i have never ever let my lips fully heal! i have had ec for about 1 year so that means for me i have taken off about 365 layers of my skin on my lips through peeling it ripping it biting it puting creams on it etc etc. people that are normal and lets say get punched in the lips or split there lips severly from dryness or force takes about 3-5 weeks it does not take 1 week! so for me personally i have thought... i have never actually let my lips try to heal from day one naturally!!!!!!! so i believe like daniel the lips need to fully form alot of new layers of skin and completely rebuild the lips! thats the reason why i believe people say when they go on the leave it alone theory the skin build up becomes less and less thick! the great question what puzzles everyone is what causes ec! lip balms, tooth paste, food reaction, severe chapped lips, trauma, biting etc etc etc
