Need some ideas guys/gals on what to do about chronic neck pain.

Been takin' someone to Chiro for months initially for fixin' her chronic neck pain. No luck after months of twice weekly treatments. Tried numerous therapeutic pillows, they all did not help alleviate the pain. Don't know the origin of this pain, it appears to be a gradual onset manifesting over years.

Went to a more open minded physician, did different bloodwork over months and from the records, the only conclusive tests seem to be antigens against certain foods like dairy and beef. Hence, she avoids all dairy and beef, but I'm sure some is hidden in processed foods that she probably consumes sometimes.

Attempted cleansing diet for 1 month on 90% raw veggies, smoothies, and non-allergic organic meats introduced 2 weeks later. Stayed on mostly RAW diet for 1 more month with little results. Suspect GI malabsorption or other impediment due to neck pain not decreasing and, even, NO weight loss.

Went to radiologist after months of trying different lab tests, chiro therapies, supplements, and doctor visits. 3-View x-ray of cervical spine shows nothing relevant, physician unimpressed. Physician recommends physical therapy, then MRI if it doesn't work. MRI's are expensive, haven't done one due to few 3-view results.

By the way, the physician is iodine-literate, as well as alternative therapies, not mainstream only. The physician recommended pro-biotics and other non-pharma supplements, little did they help. Purely mainstream physicians are mostly stuck in a smaller box, been down that route and they are often arrogant, well... most are anyway.

After chiro and physician, physical therapy (PT) was the next step. Well, there was some improvement initially, no cure. After stopping the PT post-2 months, following discharge instructions I am not sure if there was compliance 100% with neck exercises, etc... pain was 4-5 out of 10 at worst for a while, then gradually increased to 7-8 out of 10.

At this point, her chronic neck pain is at the base of the skull at the junction where the c-spine meets. Pain feels like it's in the bones with muscle tension bilaterally affecting each side of the neck with physical knots felt by hand. The chronic neck pain is upon waking, all day, until she falls asleep.

Problem is, she's resorting to 800+ mg ibuprofen, 1000+ mg acetaminophen when ibuprofen stops working. I've thrown in natural anti-inflammatories that curbed the high dose OTC drugs down, but if they stop working - the only relief left is OTC drugs.

I'm thinkin' acupressure/puncture might ease the pain.

I'd like some ideas on what ya'll think is a good course of action?
