I guess it won't be a short process then. I've been chelating for 5 months. I started the first weekend after New Year's (so, 1/7/12). I chelate Saturday-Monday.

== Sounds good.

I have met with improvements. For example, I know how to ward off a hunger crash - just how much food I need to eat, and can have "3 meals" days just fine....

== Nice, remember hypoglycemia is common symptom, along with poor mood when Sugar drops. This is thought to be adrenal related; although I think it can also be the effects of heavy metals on chromium, maybe vanadium--cf Cutler's books for more on this.

I have enough energy that I now hop a certain fence, throwing myself up with one arm, and then walk along it, when going for a walk almost every day. And I've lost some weight/waist, though not much, but enough to affect my pants/shorts size.

== This is probably the most common early improvement.

And that's it. Even as my side effects from taking ALA decreased, and I increased my dose over time, etc., I haven't met with much else in the way of improvement.

== There is often modest improvements in mood in the early months but I suspect that is from supplements more than chelation--Mg, adrenal support, sometimes a little Li.

Now, are side effects a warning that I may crash my endocrine system if I keep it up?

== We look for adrenal related sfx.

What if I have almost no side effects, is that when I increase dose?

== Typically, yes, but Andy still does not want us ramping up doses too quickly.

I still want to have more energy and interest/drive. At work, I just don't have much, but years ago I did....

== A supplement called Thyroid Helper has had a nice effect on me for about 6 years. After viewing your hair tests and more complete symptom list I might have a few more things for you to consider.

Days sometimes feel interminable, while they didn't before. I'd see an improvement here as a major marker of change.

== Maybe a 4x saliva cortisol test would be useful. Check out canaryclub.org or similar. If you do it, you might also consider adding DHEA-S and Testosterone.

== Are you taking ACE and a little pregnenolone and DHEA?

== Joe
